Historic State Bank

The Hill Country Grill is located in the historic San Marcos State Bank and Trust building. The State Bank and Trust Company was robbed in 1923 by the Newton brothers as described by the plaque outside the front door… Built in the late 1800s and recently restored, this building was used during the filming of the “Getaway” in 1972 starring Steve McQueen and Ali McGraw.
